During my 32 years in Lubbock, Texas I have come to admire and appreciate the hard working West Texas farmers. My father-in-law was a farmer, and he shared so many hard-work stories.
But you know what? Regardless of how hard he worked or regardless of how hard today’s farmer works, he will never have a crop if the seed is bad. It simply won’t happen. It all starts with the quality of the seed.
It’s the same with our money thoughts and behaviors. We can work hard, so it seems, only to not have anything to show for it. We don’t have savings. We do have debt and payments.
Sometimes we don’t mean for that to happen, but it just does.
Well, let’s examine the seed which in this case is our core beliefs, attitudes and behavior when it comes to money. Have we always borrowed money? What did we learn from our parents? Was it the RIGHT thing, or are we simply doing what we learned, which in some cases are bad behaviors?
The good seed is in us. It’s up to us to pull it out of us through education, admitting mistakes and simply asking for help, not to mention putting aside our egos. Throw out the processes that create the bad seed.
Replace it with good seed producing habits. Draw a line in the sand and pay off debt, build a monthly budget and stick to it. Say no to yourself in a few areas. Have a plan!
Our families need us to be financial heavyweights in this arena. The financial heavyweights that I observe can stand up to the tough times. They excel at giving!
And before long they have a bountiful harvest! It all starts with good seeds.Reach out for a FREE COACHING SESSION, and let me discuss your unique situation. I’m happy to help!
